Winter Style Winners

We received so many great photos for our Girlfriend Getaway Sweepstakes that we had to share some of our favorites.  Although there was only one grand prize winner, you’re all winners in our style book.

Thanks to all of our participants for submitting photos this year!

If snow and style are your thing, stay tuned … we’re headed to the Sundance Film Festival next month, where we hope to find plenty of both.  You’ll find Sundance stories here in just a few weeks!

Serv-a-palooza India

On October 4th, Team Timberland in India celebrated our annual global service initiative Serv-a-palooza by creating a clean, healthy outdoor play space for the PIA Child Care Centre in Bangalore.  The PIA Centre is located within the Peenya Industrial Area – one of the largest in Asia and home to more than 3500 companies and industries.  The PIA Centre provides much-needed child care for many parents working within the industrial area.

Together with NGO partner Manav Charities, 35 volunteers spent the day cleaning and clearing the land around the PIA Centre; laying grass and planting trees and shrubs; and installing play equipment for the children.

Our thanks to Timberland India for making this outdoor space more useful and enjoyable for the families of the PIA Centre!

The Gear Junkie Takes on the Toughest Trail in the East

To tackle what is often cited as “the toughest hiking trail in the East,” Stephen Regenold (aka The Gear Junkie) relies on his fast and light Timberland LiteTrace boots. Can he and his crew successfully make their way up 6 major peaks, 14,000 feet of elevation and 25 miles of Catskill Mountain’s Devils Path? See for yourself:

You’ll find more Gear Junkie / LiteTrace adventures on the Outdoor tab of our Facebook page and on the Gear Junkie website.  To shop for your own pair of hard hike-worthy LiteTrace boots, visit our website.

Free Music Friday: Black Kettle

Keeley Bumford and Kailynn West are the Indie rock band duo “Black Kettle,” and Timberland’s artists of the month for December.  The East Coast girls grew up conscious of environmental responsibility (Keeley’s family lived completely off the grid, with their home powered by hydro electricity!) and took those environmental values with them cross-country to Los Angeles, where they continue to be mindful of their use of energy and resources — and encourage others to do the same.

You can download Black Kettle’s song “Spineless” (for free!) on Timberland’s music page now. While you’re there, be sure to check out the rest of our featured artists and their music, too.

Earthkeepers, Peace and Love

Bidders ready?  Our Canvas That Cares auction begins at 9 pm EST tonight!

Tonight through December 11, you have the chance to bid on a pair of custom-designed, limited edition Earthkeepers boots featuring artwork created by rock and roll icon Ringo Starr himself!

Did we mention that he personally autographed all 75 pairs?  All proceeds from the auction go to WaterAid, an international organization improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in the world’s poorest communities – making this not just an exclusive opportunity, but one that supports a critical cause.

Bid early, bid often and be a part of Canvas That Cares!
