Amanda Dunne

Outside Timberland: From April through November, I can almost relate to an episode of Glee: I’m a singer, songwriter, piano player, poet… and outdoor junkie. December through March, I’m a ski-tastic powder chaser. I’m also a Mexican food fanatic and I like teaching my guinea pig Marley how to do tricks (which I realize doesn’t add to my coolness factor).
My favorite thing to do in the outdoors: Ski The Beast in Killington, VT.
My favorite Timberland product: My pair of Earthkeepers Bethel Buckle Boots: “eco” and adorable!

Timberland Goes Antiquing
Call it a commitment to sustainability — or maybe just Yankee frugality — but at Timberland, we try to repurpose old materials whenever we can, rather than buying or creating new ones. One of the best ways we can do this is to incorporate repurposed and reclaimed materials in the design of our retail stores. [...]
When a House Becomes a Home
Last September during Timberland Serv-a-palooza (our annual global community service event), over 150 Timberland employees, associates, friends and family members pulled on their boots and spent the day in the rainy parking lot at our Stratham, NH headquarters. The project: working with Habitat for Humanity to frame five houses that would be given to families from [...]
Two Years Later, 1.4 Million Trees Greener
We’ve planted 1.4 million trees in Haiti since 2010, when we launched the Timberland tree nursery and training project there as part of our commitment to plant 5 million trees in five years. Less than 2% of Haiti’s original forests remain due to a long history of unsustainable land use practices and a continuing dependence [...]
Providing Over 800 People With Water for Life
Back in December, we kicked off Canvas that Cares, auctioning off 75 pairs of limited-edition Timberland® Earthkeepers® Bionic® Canvas boots featuring artwork and autographs by the one-and-only Ringo Starr. And we have some exciting news to share! The auction raised over $20,000 for non-profit organization WaterAid. To put that amount into perspective, that’s enough money [...]
A Tour of Timberland Canada’s New Uber Green HQ
A few months ago, after spending some time at the Toronto International Film Festival, I had the privilege of visiting Timberland Canada’s Headquarters at the Evergreen Brick Works campus, a community environmental center that inspires and equips visitors to live, work and play more sustainably. Evergreen, a national charity, transformed the former Don Valley Brick [...]

Timberland Partnering with Ringo Starr for ‘Canvas that Cares’ Auction
The only thing better than our Earthkeepers boots? Earthkeepers boots designed by none other than rock and roll icon Ringo Starr! This boot marks the launch of our newest initiative, Canvas that Cares — a program created to raise funds for non-profit organizations through the auction of limited edition Earthkeepers® footwear (Timberland’s most eco-minded collection) [...]
It’s All In the Details: Take the Sustainable Store Tour!
Did you know that in our store in Milan, Italy you’ll find a 1930s wooden wardrobe from Oxford University? Or that our store on Newbury Street in Boston was built in an old school house? There’s more than meets the eye when you walk into a Timberland store — and now you can get the [...]
“By Giving, We Receive:” An exclusive interview with Timberland featured band, Alma Desnuda
Managing Timberland’s Community Music program gives me the opportunity to work with passionate up-and-coming musicians who have strong environmental values. I was taken aback when one of our featured bands, Alma Desnuda , asked to donate the Timberland footwear we offered them to children in need. I have to admit I was surprised –I mean, [...]
One Minute Challenge: How Many Eco-conscious Elements Can We Find?
While in San Francisco, Ramsey and I took on a challenge of “eco” proportions, trying to capture and share in one minute as many sustainable features as possible in one of Timberland’s most eco-conscious stores to date. It took a cable car ride, a pep talk and couple pairs of Timberland Earthkeepers boat shoes to [...]
