It’s an exciting day here at Timberland: Not only is it Friday (in and of itself worth celebrating), but we’ve also hit the major modern milestone of having one million fans on our Timberland Facebook page! That’s a whole lot of love.
We couldn’t be happier with our Facebook fans – they’re always sending us great pics of their Timberland gear, commenting on our new products and styles and generally providing a positive Timberland vibe. We wouldn’t be the brand we are without the support of other people who love Timberland as much as we do – so thank you, Facebook fans. Thanks a million.
If you’re not already a Timberland fan on Facebook, we’d love to add you to our one-million-and-growing community. Check us out!
Robert, the star of Timberland’s Nature Needs Heroes TV commercial, invited us behind the scenes as he performed one of his breath-taking stunts. Or not:
Ah, well. Even seasoned performance artists miss their mark sometimes.
You can see more unedited footage of Robert’s on-set shenanigans on our Facebook page: like us to unlock the entire Robert video vault! And while you’re there, don’t forget to vote for your favorite Earthkeeper footwear. At last check, the Men’s Rugged 6-Inch Waterproof Plain Toe Boot was getting the most love, with the Women’s Rudston Waterproof Pull-On Boot in a distant second place. Agree? Don’t? Cast your vote!
If you don’t know Robert, you don’t know what you’re missing. He’s a plastic bottle, “action artist” extraordinaire and the real star (he would tell you) of our Nature Needs Heroes TV commercial:
We were fortunate enough to be able to catch up with Robert on the set and get his uncensored thoughts about being a superstar stuntman … including what it’s like to work with incompetent co-stars:
If you like Robert, you should like us on Facebook (Timberland US is here, Timberland Europe is here). Once you do, you’ll unlock the full series of Robert’s “Lost Bottle” videos. While you’re there, don’t forget to vote for your favorite pair of Earthkeeper footwear – we’ll report back on the Facebook Favorite later this month.
Facebookers: If you live in Europe and like local content, then check out: Timberland Europe‘s Facebook page. It’s the place to go for the latest updates on our products, events and store openings … plus other outdoors-related thoughts, images and ideas we think are share-worthy.
European or not, we love to greet visitors to our Facebook page. Stop by and say hi!
This is a very exciting week for tree planting at Timberland: in honor of Earth Month, we’re increasing the tree ratio in our Virtual Forest Facebook Application to 1 to 1. Forget about the complicated two-real-trees-for-every-25-virtual-trees shenanigans… we’re making it simple. From now on, when you plant one virtual tree, Timberland will plant one real tree in Haiti (up to one million). Now that’s something to celebrate!
This change to the app will be retroactive, bumping up the number of additional real trees we’ll be planting in Haiti to over 100,000 thanks to all of the virtual planting that’s been done so far! Planting a tree in the app is easy if you have a Facebook account. If you haven’t already, we invite you to join the Timberland Earthkeepers Virtual Forest and invite your Facebook friends to join, too: http://apps.facebook.com/timberlandtreeapp/
In partnership with Trees for the Future, the trees we’re planting will provide food, fuel and shelter for the people of Haiti. For example, one of the trees we’re planting, the benzoliv (moringa) tree, has leaves packed with seven times more vitamin C than oranges, four times more calcium than milk, and three times more potassium than bananas. That’s a real “miracle tree” for combating malnourishment — and together we can plant more of them in Haiti. So let’s get planting, invite our friends to help and spread the word!
